The St. Louis area was hit with nearly 12 inches of snow on January 5, 2014, with bitter cold temperatures dropping to minus 30 degrees at night. While snow removal and travel were a challenge for the entire region, antiquated plowing procedures left the South Side untouched with residents buried indoors for much of the following week. Finally, after two restless days in captivity, we decided we couldn't sit idle any longer and began making the most of the icy situation. Winter's dark grip is captured here in these 6 tracks, recorded using only a laptop, its built-in microphone, an acoustic guitar, and some shakers.
